At home in any time zone
La Cote des Montres - July 22nd, 2013

The P‘6752 WorldTraveler from Porsche Design helps globetrotters keep an eye on the time back home. It shows the time in two different time zones in parallel. The display of a second time zone makes it possible to know how late it is at home – at any time and at a single glance. The Porsche Design P‘6752 WorldTraveler is thereby the smaller alternative to the already legendary Porsche Design P’6750 Worldtimer, which was first presented to the public in 2007.

Nowadays, you can cross various time zones within a few hours. The P‘6752 WorldTraveler offers the opportunity to select the time at your hometown from the 24 standard times of the world. For orientation purposes, the 24 time zones are also engraved on the rear of the watch. A hand with a red triangle indicates the second time zone on an inner scale divided into 24 hours. The time itself is shown on the outer 12-hour ring of the watch face. The date is displayed in a window located at three o’clock. As is typical of the luxury Porsche Design brand, the black watch face of the WorldTraveler has a purist design. The Arabic numerals and the skeletal hands are filled with white luminous material.

For the first time, the calibre 39 movement developed and built in the Eterna factory is used inside the Porsche Design P’6752 WorldTraveler. This traditional Swiss company is the licence partner of Porsche Design for the timepieces, and started the development of the new movement as long ago as 2007. The balance in the Eterna calibre 3945A is calibrated at 28,800 half-oscillations an hour. 28 jewels reduce the resistance.

The shot-blasted titanium case with screw-down crown has non-reflective and scratchproof sapphire glass. The case of the WorldTraveler is waterproof up to a depth of 50 metres (5 ATM), and, with a case diameter of 42 millimetres, the new P’6752 world time watch is around three millimetres smaller and two millimetres flatter than the P’6750 Worldtimer.

The market launch of the P‘6752 WorldTraveler is planned for the early 2014.
