A GMT display transformed into a true work of art
La Cote des Montres - July 28th, 2026

Perrelet et IFL Watches join forces to unveil the new Weekend GMT Atlas, an exclusive 50-piece limited edition blending swiss watchmaking excellence with the art of hand-painted miniatures.

Perrelet is delighted to introduce the WEEKEND GMT ATLAS, a limited series of just 50 pieces created in collaboration with the Dubai-based atelier IFL Watches, which is renowned for its bespoke, hand-painted dials.

The classic Weekend GMT, a model that has previously been available in vibrant and trendy colours, has been reimagined in this exclusive edition, with its GMT display transformed into a true work of art.

Each dial is a blank canvas that is hand-painted to tell a story and evoke emotions. Consequently, each timepiece is a unique creation, with no two dials ever being exactly alike.

A hand-painted tribute

to the spirit of travel

Created exclusively for this special edition, the dial celebrates the theme of travel and exploration.
At its centre appears a finely hand-painted compass rose, a universal symbol of navigation and discovery. For centuries, it guided sailors across seas and oceans, helping them determine direction and chart their journeys long before modern navigation systems existed.

Encircling this central motif, the hour track evolves into a colourful panorama inspired by various regions of the world. Dolphins leaping from crystal-clear waters, lush tropical vegetation and the imposing pyramids of Egypt come together in a vivid composition that captures the variety of landscapes and cultures encountered when travelling across continents. Discreet, slender, elongated baton hour markers positioned along the hour track ensure excellent legibility while preserving the integrity of the hand-painted artwork.

The imagery has been conceived as a natural extension of the GMT function - a complication designed for those who move between different time zones while maintaining a connection with home. The 24-hour GMT scale is clearly displayed on a satin-finished blue ring surrounding the compass rose, and is read via a dedicated hand with a white triangular tip outlined in red to ensure immediate recognition of home time.

The date window at 3 o’clock is equally discreet yet perfectly integrated into the overall design, providing an additional practical indication without disturbing the harmony of the hand-painted composition. The carefully balanced colour palette enhances the sense of visual harmony, evoking the freedom, serenity, and wonder that accompany every journey.

Individually hand-painted, each dial is a unique work of art, encapsulating the spirit of travel that defines this captivating timepiece.

A refined
and versatile style

The WEEKEND GMT ATLAS boasts a well-proportioned, round case, showcasing the refined style that has distinguished the collection since its launch in 2019. Crafted from stainless steel with alternating polished and brushed finishes, it has a diameter of 39 mm and a thickness of just 9.61 mm, ensuring excellent wearability on a wide variety of wrist sizes.

The slender bezel, elongated lugs with bevelled edges, and fluted, personalised crown contribute to a sophisticated aesthetic that effortlessly combines classic and contemporary design. With a water resistance of 5 ATM (50 metres), the watch is ideal for everyday wear.

The WEEKEND GMT ATLAS is fitted with a soft, comfortable stainless steel bracelet with alternating polished and satin-finished surfaces. It also comes with an additional blue leather strap with an alligator pattern.

Thanks to the practical quick-release system, the two options can be easily exchanged without the need for tools. This allows the wearer to effortlessly adapt the watch, transforming it from a versatile, sports-chic everyday companion into a more refined and elegant timepiece for formal occasions.

P-401 Calibre

In-house automatic

The Weekend GMT Atlas is powered by the in-house automatic calibre P-401, developed by SOPROD, part of a distinguished group of six Swiss watchmaking companies owned by Spanish entrepreneur Miguel Rodríguez, who also owns Perrelet. This network of expertise and technical excellence underpins every Perrelet creation, combining watchmaking craftsmanship with high-precision engineering to result in timepieces that stand out for their reliability and exquisite finishes.

Beating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and offering a 42-hour power reserve, the calibre P-401 with GMT function and date is designed for both technical efficiency and everyday practicality. Its solid oscillating weight, mounted on ball bearings, ensures smooth rotation and optimal energy transmission, contributing to long-term durability and consistent performance.

Created for modern travellers, the movement enables intuitive dual-time functionality: local time is indicated by the central hour and minute hands, while a dedicated hand with a triangular tip displays home time on a 24-hour scale, easily adjustable via the crown.

The screw-down case back features a transparent porthole with a decorative motif that echoes the theme illustrated on the dial, offering a cohesive visual continuity between front and back. Alongside this illustration, the rear also bears the indication of the limited series, which underscores the exclusivity of the model.

Through the porthole, the movement reveals its refined architecture and meticulous finishing, including circular-grained bridges, sunray-finished surfaces and a customised oscillating weight bearing the Perrelet logo.

The WEEKEND GMT ATLAS will be available from 27 Juky 2026 through the site IFL Watches website, as well as at authorised Perrelet retailers worldwide and via its official e-commerce platform.

Established in Dubai by Karar Aimer, IFL Watches is an independent creative atelier that has gained worldwide reputation for its bespoke artistic interpretations of timepieces.

The company transforms watch dials into miniature canvases where creativity replaces mass production. Each timepiece becomes a one-of-a-kind creation, born of human craftsmanship rather than mechanical repetition.

Every dial is meticulously hand-painted by skilled artists, ensuring that no two watches are identical. These subtle variations, inherent in the creative process, make each piece a unique work of art, distinguished by its human touch and artisanal character.

Working in partnership with leading watch brands, IFL Watches develops tailor-made dial customizations for officially approved limited editions. Each collaboration is designed to enhance the visual identity of the original timepiece while fully preserving its mechanical integrity.

About Perrelet

Perrelet, Bienne-based Swiss watch company whose roots date back to 1777, is world-renowned for its timepieces with “animated” dials.

Its collections, featuring the iconic and patented Double Rotor and Turbine technologies, pay tribute to founder Abraham-Louis Perrelet, the precursor of the first self-winding movement, and are recognised signature features of the brand. He is also credited with the creation of the first pedometer in 1780.

As heirs of the genius master watchmaker, every model in Perrelet’s collections is fitted with an in-house automatic movement.

Since 2004, Perrelet has been part of the Festina Group, owned by the Spanish entrepreneur Miguel Rodriguez, who also owns a prestigious watchmaking pole (SOPROD) comprising no less than six production sites. This latter allows the brand total autonomy in the production of its timepieces and consequently maximum freedom of creation.
