Jaeger-LeCoultre presents the Master Ultra Thin Date and Master Ultra Thin Moon with new grained dials in a soft shade of copper. Contrasting with the cool shine of the polished stainless-steel cases, the subtle texture and warm colour of the dials brings fresh animation to the timeless aesthetics and technical virtuosity for which the Master Ultra Thin collection is renowned.
The quintessential
dress watch
Inspired by the Maison’s remarkable legacy of ultra-thin watches – created from the early 1900s onwards – the Master Ultra Thin collection was conceived as the quintessential dress watch for the 21
st century. Timeless and classic with clean lines, polished surfaces and long, curving lugs, the Master Ultra Thin expresses an understated sophistication with a touch of modernity. Its thin calibres attest to almost 200 years of continuous mechanical innovation and excellence within Jaeger-LeCoultre’s fully integrated Manufacture in Switzerland’s Vallée de Joux.

New grained dials in a soft copper shade bring fresh and contemporary allure to the Master Ultra Thin Date and Master Ultra Thin Moon. As the subtle texture catches the light from different angles, the colour shifts between a soft, almost powdery shade to a more saturated tone. The warm tones make a striking contrast with the cool polished surfaces of the stainless-steel case, the elongated hour markers and faceted hands.

Complementing the sleek lines of the 39mm case, the dial layout is a finely judged exercise in symmetry and balance. Anchored by the date or the moon phase display at 6 o’clock, it is highly legible and perfectly integrated in every detail. The shape of the elongated trapezoid indexes is echoed by the Dauphine hands, on which one facet is satin-brushed and the other polished, to create a visually intriguing play of light from different angles. An alligator strap in a new shade of brown, along with its folding buckle in stainless steel, can be easily interchanged as the wearer wishes, adding even more versatility to this sophisticated, modern timepiece.

Two
signature
complications
driven by emblematic manufacture movements
While sharing the signature Master Ultra Thin characteristics, each of the new references retains its individual character, notably by highlighting its complication with a contrasting element on the dial display. The Master Ultra Thin Date is distinguished by a white date disc within a rectangular window framed by the copper colour of the dial. The Master Ultra Thin Moon features a combined moon phase and date display: a silver moon against a deep blue starry background, with the dates printed in black around the moon phase aperture on the copper dial.

Both watches benefit from in-house movements that are designed, manufactured and assembled at Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Manufacture in Le Sentier. Calibre 899 animates the Master Ultra Thin Date, and Calibre 925 powers the Master Ultra Thin Moon. The two self-winding movements are among the mainstays of the Maison’s collection, well proven over the course of many years and regularly updated in line with technical advances to improve reliability and precision. The latest versions of the calibres provide a power reserve of 70 hours. In full view through the transparent sapphire case-back, the movements feature fine decorative finishes including Côtes de Genève, bevelled bridges and blue screws. An open-worked 22-carat pink gold winding rotor increases the visual pleasure.

Like every new Jaeger-LeCoultre watch the Master Ultra Thin Date and Master Ultra Thin Moon undergo the 1,000 Hour Control, a more stringent testing protocol than official chronometry tests as it certifies both the movement and the fully cased-up watch.
