Reinventing the present to lay foundations for the future
The Land-Dweller 36 in 18 ct Everose gold with an intense white, honeycomb-motif, diamond-set dial and Flat Jubilee bracelet.
This dial is adorned with a honeycomb motif with a satin finish. Its creation calls on traditional craftsmanship and high-technology methods, all mastered in-house. The honeycomb structure is cut with a femtosecond laser, which is also used to etch the delicate lines in the grooves separating each cell. The dial is set with 10 baguette-cut diamonds to mark the hours.
Gem-setters, like sculptors, finely carve the precious metal to hand-shape the seat in which each gemstone will be perfectly lodged. With the art and craft of a jeweller, the stone is placed and meticulously aligned with the others, then firmly secured in its gold or platinum setting. Besides the intrinsic quality of the stones, several other criteria contribute to the beauty of Rolex gem-setting: the precise alignment of the height of the gems, their orientation and position, the regularity, strength and proportions of the setting as well as the intricate finishing of the metalwork. A sparkling symphony to enhance the watch and enchant the wearer.
To preserve the beauty of its pink gold watches, Rolex created and patented an exclusive 18 ct pink gold alloy cast in its own foundry: Everose gold. Introduced in 2005, 18 ct Everose is used on all Rolex Oyster models in pink gold.
The Flat Jubilee bracelet
Seamless integrated design
Specially designed for this watch, the Flat Jubilee bracelet is a reinterpretation of the emblematic Jubilee bracelet. The Flat Jubilee differs in that all the links are flat, and it merges seamlessly with the Oyster case to form a balanced, harmonious whole, with the alternation of polished and technical satin finishings. Moreover, the top edges of the bracelet's outer links are bevelled, as are those of the middle case, and the resulting chamfers polished, creating the appearance of a continuous ribbon of light. It is equipped with a concealed folding Crownclasp.
The Cyclops lens is one of the most distinctive Rolex features, and one of the most recognizable. Named after the one-eyed giant of Greek mythology, the Cyclops lens magnifies the watch’s emblematic date display for easy reading. Behind the Cyclops, as with every feature of a Rolex timepiece, lies a history of invention, research and development, and the endless search for perfection.
