First UEFA Women’s Euro for Hublot
strong>Hublot has been supporting football since 2008... on the pitch, through its competitions and working with male and female players alike. Football is a passion and a source of inspiration – a sport that anyone can play, regardless of gender. The brand has been supporting women’s football since 2015 through all the UEFA competitions and its brand ambassadors Ada Hegerberg and Alexia Putellas. This year, Hublot will be sponsoring its first UEFA Women’s EURO; a proud announcement, but above all natural development for the luxury Swiss watchmaker.
“UEFA disclosed a figure that says so much about women’s football, and which I like a lot.
In 2021, no male footballer had reached more than 200 caps worldwide, but more than 20 female footballers had, including six Europeans. At Hublot, we love football; whether it is men’s or women’s football, for us it is and remains football. It is a sport that is full of passion and inspiration, which is open and accessible to players of both sexes. As a sport it still needs to grow and become more inclusive. For Hublot, being a UEFA partner and sponsoring an event like UEFA Women’s EURO 2022™, also means supporting the objectives of the Union of European Football Associations in its desire to increase the visibility and awareness of women’s football and double the number of registered women players by 2024. This commitment is also expressed through the traits of our brand friends - Ada Hegerberg & Alexia Putellas. These women embody the values of both football and women’s football, inspiring the new generation to join them. On 6 July, we will all come together to celebrate the same passion, the same cause and the same dream.”
Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO Hublot
After the final of the UEFA Women’s Champions’ League, Hublot is once again preparing to experience and share magical football moments. For the first time, UEFA and Hublot are joining forces for women’s football. Mark the date of 6 July for the kick-off of the first match, England v Austria, at Old Trafford. The programme includes 25 days of football, 16 teams, 10 stadiums and a much-anticipated final at Wembley. For the first time in 22 years, Germany will not be starting the tournament as title-holder, as the Netherlands have held it since 2017. In a sign that women’s football is becoming increasingly visible, UEFA has already announced that the 2022 event will set new records in spectators and television audiences.
Hublot and women’s football
Following the example of its role as sponsor for UEFA’s men’s competitions, Hublot has worn the colours of women’s football since 2015 by supporting the FIFA™ Women’s World Cup in Canada and since 2020, the UEFA Women’s Champions League, UEFA’s Women’s Under-19™, UEFA’s Women’s Under-17™ and UEFA’s Futsal EURO™ Women’s champions League, the indoor hard-court football tournament.
These sponsorship deals confirm Hublot’s commitment to the sport’s values and the inclusive spirit of football. Through its commitments, Hublot also champions the values of the Together #WePlayStrong campaign, which fittingly aims to develop women’s football in Europe. The watchmaker carries this commitment onto the pitches, with its two friends of the brand– Ada Hegerberg & Alexia Putellas.. Ada Hegerberg, will play the competition on the Norwegian team (Group A) and will defend her country’s colours on the pitch, but together they both embody the spirit of women’s football. These two sporting icons are on two different, inspiring paths, to bring the values of equality to the heart of football and even beyond.
Ada Hegerberg has been a friend of the brand since 2019. She is the star of the Norwegian women’s national team, the winner of the 2018 Ballon d’Or, and holds the record for the most goals in 2019. Recently recovered from an injury that has kept her away from competition, she is making her return to the Norwegian national team for the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022™. Football is a family affair for Ada: she was inspired by her sister Andrine Stolsmo Hegerberg. Now in turn, she is inspiring the new generation to play football.
Alexia Putellas has been a friend of the brand since 2021. She is the player with the greatest number of caps in the Spanish team. Already a Barça legend, in 2021 she pulled off the double achievement: the Women’s Ballon d’Or and UEFA’s Women’s Player of the Year award. She started playing football at school where she already showed her leadership qualities.
Many dream of following in their path. These great players champion the values of courage, determination and heart through the #showyourheart.
At Hublot we love football, especially the dreams, the emotions and inspiration that it generates.

Founded in Switzerland in 1980, Hublot is defined by its innovation, which began with the highly original combination of gold and rubber. This “Art of Fusion”
stems from the imagination of its visionary Chairman, Jean-Claude Biver, and has been driven forward by CEO Ricardo Guadalupe since 2012.
The release of the iconic, multi-award-winning Big Bang in 2005 paved the way for new flagship collections (Classic Fusion, Spirit of Big Bang), with complications ranging from the simple to the highly sophisticated, establishing the extraordinary DNA of the Swiss watchmaking house and ensuring its impressive growth.
Keen to preserve its traditional and cutting-edge expertise, and guided by its philosophy to “Be First, Different and Unique”,
the Swiss watchmaker is consistently ahead of the curve, through its innovations in materials (scratch-resistant Magic Gold, ceramics in vibrant colours, sapphire), and the creation of Manufacture movements (Unico, Meca-10, Tourbillon).
Hublot is fully committed to creating a Haute Horlogerie brand with a visionary future: a future which is fused with the key events of our times (FIFA World Cup™, UEFA Champions League™, UEFA EURO™) and the finest ambassadors our era has to offer (Chiara Ferragni, Pelé, Kylian Mbappé, Usain Bolt, Novak Djokovic).
