A modern british take on the “montre à guichet”
La Cote des Montres - October 27th, 2025

Bremont proudly expands its Terra Nova collection with the launch of a new striking variant: the Terra Nova Jumping Hour in steel. Styled and meticulously crafted, the refined 38mm model brings a contemporary interpretation of the Jumping Hour montres à guichet to the Terra Nova field watch line. Combining mechanical innovation with military-inspired design, the new Jumping Hour in 904l steel offers rugged elegance and precision for the modern watch enthusiast, whilst further demonstrating the versatility of the Terra Nova collection.

First introduced in 2024, the series of contemporary field watches, with their unique, geometric cushion shaped case, low profile, and shortened lugs present a modern tool watch design, inspired by military pocket watches of the early 20th century.

The new 904l steel montre à guichet design follows the launch of the limited-edition cupro-aluminium bronze edition, which draws inspiration from the iconic “trench watches” of the early 20th century, both powered by an all-new Jumping Hour calibre BC634, developed exclusively with movement manufacturer Sellita.

Bold and contemporary in its design, the new Terra Nova Jumping Hour in polished and brushed 904L steel, features clean, minimalist apertures in the classic montre à guichet design — showing hours, minutes, and a central sweeping seconds hand evoking a traditional compass and reinforcing Bremont’s passion for adventure and exploration. Designed for reliability and precision, the calibre delivers a sharp and instantaneous hour jump in under 1/10th of a second.

Available with a brushed and polised 904l steel Terra Nova bracelet or chocolate box-stitch leather strap, this new launch is a stylish, functional tool watch with a contemporary tribute to the past.

Davide Cerrato, CEO of Bremont, comments: “When we first launched the Terra Nova Jumping Hour in bronze, the response was phenomenal — it sold out very quickly. It confirmed for us that our clients are not only hungry for more intriguing complications, but also for bold design statements. Weknow this watch has the potential to become a future icon, standing alongside the Altitude MB. In this regard, we’re proud to introduce its second iteration crafted in 904L steel and not limited. It’s as robust as any Bremont, and makes a bold style statement.”
