BRM SCR Racing Under the magnifying glass

Bernard Richards Manufacture spirit

True to the spirit of BRM-Manufacture, the new SCR Racing stems from a line of hardened character watches: V12, V12 Racing, V14 and V14 Racing.

While other brands seek ambassadors for the millions, the individuality of Bernard Richards watches stands out

Intimately related to the very exclusive spirit of their production, the success of Bernard Richards also owes much to the magic breathed into the collections. With a BRM on the wrist, every customer becomes an ambassador. It’s impossible to wear a BRM without having to answer the same question several times a day, “What’s that watch you’re wearing?” A deceptively simple question that leaves a permanent trace for anyone who can answer with pride, having chosen a BRM.

Savoir-faire and technology

To produce the SCR Racing, Bernard Richards chose materials that would set off all the technological skills of his company. The alliance of titanium and polished stainless steel play on the contrasting materials, and the case is imbued with the nobility of the machining techniques used on each of the pieces that go to make the watch. Beyond the obvious qualities of weight in a watch of this size (48mm flat, 54mm on end) titanium also gives it a unique character.

On the wrist

With its assertively out-of-the-ordinary character, the BRM SCR Racing will keep people talking for some time to come. We tested the effects: it’s wild!

Never has a wristwatch been the subject of so much discussion between the people we talked to, and our colleagues. No-one within five metres with two legs, two arms and a head could remain indifferent (after all the creature measures 48mm in diameter)!

Opinion of La Cote des Montres

A timeless watch and a mechanism reworked like a modern sculpture that you never tire of looking at from both sides.

Strong points

• 48 mm*
• Personality, character
• Skeleton dial almost impossible to find for less than 30,000 euros
• Materials (alloy of titanium and polished stainless steel, with carbon inserts used to exquisite effect
• Rough yet distinguished finish, a kind of “workshop” look

Weak points

• 48 mm*

*N.B: BRM tells us that they are developing two other cases, a smaller one and also a larger one for the American market!

Our rating: *****
